Why is Culture important in our life?

Culture is the foundation of traditions and practices in our life. It details our experience, upbringing in life and our Identity as a member of the community. Whereas being a member of a community, we are a part of the bigger society. The large and diverse society of different cultures and practices. And in the village of Buscalan in the Kalinga Province, Philippines lies an example of a great culture that is being passed down for generations. The master tattooist Apo Whang Od Oggay, a living treasure of Philippine culture and the Philippines’ oldest tattoo artist continues to pass on and practice the tradition. In this essay, I want to express my reflection on the significance of continuing and passing down cultures.

Culture can define the identity of an individual; it is a complex whole that encompasses beliefs, practices, values, attitudes, laws, norms, symbols, knowledge, and everything that a person learns and shares as a member of society. It defines an identity of an individual because it shapes the behavior and views about other people and society. It also makes us appreciate what makes us similar or different to others. Culture defines our Identity as it helps people to know about themselves, traditions, and society. It highlights our uniqueness and makes us who we are today.

Culture is one of the aspects of foundation in our life because it is learned, shared and symbolic. It brings us to various experiences and practices in life that leads to our upbringing. That helps us hone to become what we are today and provides us the values and perceptions of our identity today. It is the knowledge, belief, art, morals, customs, laws, and the habits acquired and shared through social interaction in our daily life. Without culture we would not become anything, and we would not have the identity as the person we are today.

Culture is the foundation of traditions and practices in our life. It details our experience, upbringing in life and our Identity as a member of the community. It makes us what we are today to have an identity and it builds our life through various experiences and practices in our upbringing. The significance of continuing and passing down cultures is essential in our life. As culture is learned, shared and symbolic, it is an important part of our life as culture makes a part of who we are today.

    Blessed Be God Forever!

THE PHILOSOPHY OF THE FILIPINO DEMOCRACY   By: Lourenzo Manimtim The state of the nation depends on states of citizens, and a nation is governed by leaders and the leaders are elected by the citizens. It is not a very big surprise to see usual the political situation of the Philippines, shown in the media are the rampant cases of corruption, incompetence of leaders, violence, and greed.   Most politicians operate by their own interests, primarily the traditional politicians, the large and corrupt big political families that rule the power and government in our country. And many of these families are fat dynasties, with their greed of power and wealth they leech and drain the country of its resources. But aside from the fat dynasties, there also other ordinary politicians that use their power for their own interests. But amidst the current situation we cannot take for granted that there are also good politicians that loyally serves and loves their country and the society.   But if
