“IDiD it!” | Limits beyond boundaries| “A Memoir in My LIfe” By: Lourenzo Manimtim (Part 3)

I never thought that Chinese New Year’s will be amazing, well for me it is just a normal day even though it is considered as a holiday. Well, that won’t be surprising after all I am not Chinese. But this day is certainly a great exception. Because today is the tomorrow of my yesterday’s victory! And probably I have one of my best mornings in my entire life! It was so relieving, and I felt like that I am in the clouds. Man! It was a very great feeling to simmer like you are on top of the world after winning a great feat. Well, that is because with God’s great blessings I just won what I did not expect! A great competition and an achievement for my entire life the “IDiD Quiz Competition” the Battle of the Strands of Siena College of Taytay.

Well, as the name implies it is a Battle of the Strands exclusive only for the best and most outstanding Grade 12 students of every strand! In Siena College of Taytay, and Siena is no joke it is one of the best schools in Taytay, Rizal. I contend with other strands, I am from HUMSS 2, I won the eliminations, and I represented the HUMSS Strand in the Final Battle. I competed with the other strands with opponents of similar or greater ability from STEM, ABM and the TVL. The pressure is nigh, and the air is very challenging it feels like I am an anime main character from shokugeki no soma or JoJo’s Bizarre Adventures (JoJo Reference?)

I think I have followed some form of an anime plot, like that process the “Hero’s Journey” made by Joseph Campbell. I am mean seriously it was like a movie there is that moment where I feel I was going to lose there was even that moment where I go full Lelouch! Or Shikamaru! Where I pretty much go into that full tactical mode brain mode, I did strategic analysis of my progress and act depending on the situation.  And not only that because soon some kind of power swelled up like some divine guidance or intervention descending upon me like a power-up then boom! I manage to win the next game mode my God! There are gaps and misses in some rounds like in the Picture Puzzle and Blockbuster modes along the way, but in the end, I have managed to sweep the MEGBYTES, the final round of the competition. It was the most stressful and challenging part of the competition as everything in this mode is all do or die, basically, there’s a catch if got the wrong answer you’ll be deducted 10 pts and if you also messed with the elite question, the Digital Edge, expect to lose more as you nulled by at least 60 points. So, one needs to be very careful in answering but as I said in with God’s power and Mama Mary’s prayers I swept and aced the final round. By the way, I have mentioned Mama Mary lots of times, well she is the one who greatly helped with together after I prayed the novena prior to the competition, and of course together with God, to win the competition! because with God nothing is impossible, and you will have Unlimited Power!

Thank you, Lord, and Thank you Mama Mary for guiding me and giving me the intelligence needed that time. It was a journey a trial of ups and downs and I thought I was going to lose, but with blessings and luck I manage to have those epic comeback moments! It was amazing that memory of challenge, struggle, loss then Victory! It was a movie, and I even ask to myself is this real? I am surprised and I cannot believe it! I know it is just a small part for my later achievements in life but least it made my morning glorious and amazing. But parts are puzzles, and if you connect each little jigsaw puzzle it will form into a greater picture. A gestalt or your unified whole! This experience left a mark on me it has given a challenge and trials, it broke my limitations and I definitely say to myself now I can go beyond just the 2nd Place.

The “I” and “My” by George Herbert Mead: A Reflective Essay by: Lourenzo Manimtim

The “I” and “Me” and the Generalized others, of George Herbert Mead, focuses on the effects of the significant others in the development of our perception of the self. In contrast to the study of Charles Cooley, where he believed that the other people are the ones that play a significant role on how we view our selves. Mead instead focused on the significant others, the significant people that may influence to our perception of the self and how those people thoughts of us changes across the lifespan. The special people which Mead refers are the closest people to us, most especially our family, relatives, peers and even your loved one. THE PHILOSOPHY OF THE FILIPINO DEMOCRACY | By: Lourenzo Manimtim

THE PHILOSOPHY OF THE FILIPINO DEMOCRACY   By: Lourenzo Manimtim The state of the nation depends on states of citizens, and a nation is governed by leaders and the leaders are elected by the citizens. It is not a very big surprise to see usual the political situation of the Philippines, shown in the media are the rampant cases of corruption, incompetence of leaders, violence, and greed.   Most politicians operate by their own interests, primarily the traditional politicians, the large and corrupt big political families that rule the power and government in our country. And many of these families are fat dynasties, with their greed of power and wealth they leech and drain the country of its resources. But aside from the fat dynasties, there also other ordinary politicians that use their power for their own interests. But amidst the current situation we cannot take for granted that there are also good politicians that loyally serves and loves their country and the society.   But if
